Starkville’s House of El Podcast

So many things to discuss, so little time! Big news is that Al Gough, Miles Millar, Erica Durance, Justin Hartley, Phil Morris, and newcomer Laura Vandervoort were in attendance at the Smallville panel in San Diego tonight. Unfortunately due to some unruly fans, the meet-and-greet with the stars was cancelled after only 10 minutes before the panel when the group mobbed the table, and only around 20 people got autographs before some people ruined it for everyone else. But the panel itself seemed to more than make up for that slight against the fans, and we’ve got the recap plus pictures thanks to our correspondent Kim from Comic-Con! Big news so far:

• Justin Hartley will reprise his role of Oliver Queen (Green Arrow) later this season with old and new members of the JLA.
• Dean Cain will be appearing as a supposed doctor that can cure meteor freaks in episode 7×04 - “Cure”
• A 5 minute trailer was shown to promote season 7 featuring footage from seasons 1 - 6 and new footage including scenes of Chloe on a stretcher, Clark and Bizarro fighting, with Bizarro using Kryptonite to heal a wound on himself, and Lionel badly bruised and tossed aside into what appeared to be a river.
• New Smallville action figures will be avaliable in the form of the Justice League. Coming in May 2008, the set will feature Aquaman, Cyborg, Green Arrow, and Impulse including a few others to be named later and a possible Bizarro figure.
• Michael Rosenbaum is currently recovering from back surgery.
• Tom Welling was in Vancouver at the time of the panel filming scenes as Bizarro.
• “As for Wonder Woman, we’ll keep working on it” - Al & Miles response to an attendant asking about Batman and WW on Smallville.
• The first 15 people to ask the panel questions got autographed t-shirts from Laura Vandervoort.
• Very little was said about Chloe or Lana (due to their limbo at the end of season 6) though we did see Chloe in the trailer, and Laura mentioned filming with Allison, though she said she hadn’t filmed anything with Kristin…”yet”.
